2026 Black and White Print Competition Rules
1. Each club may submit up to 6 (six) prints for judging. Only 1 (one) print per member
may be entered. Entries should be brought to the event (St Marks Church Hall, 12953 20 Ave.
Surrey), by a representative from each club by 5.30 pm on Saturday 25 April 2026, and removed
after the event either by the club representative or individual photographers. One club representative
is required to attend.
2. If a photographer is a member of more than one club they may participate in only one
club’s entry. Individual entries will not be accepted.
3. Subject is open, and the choice of the photographer (but inappropriate images will not be accepted).
4. Prints must be black and white. No tinted or toned prints will be accepted. No AI images.
5. Prints may be produced on any type of photographic paper as long as the end
result is black and white, but not printed on non-paper items such as metals.
6. Prints may be displayed in any format such as polytychs, be circular or octagonal
in shape, and have photographic framing of the image as long as the framing is
either black or white.
7. Prints must be 10 x 12 inches or larger, up to 16 x 20 inches maximum.
8. All prints must be thick enough or attached to suitable backing sufficient for them to stand upright
on their own on an easel to be judged. They may be matted with black or white matting as
in previous competitions, but are not required to be.
9. Prints must not be framed or covered with glass, etc. There should be no script on the front of the prints
or the mat. Images should not have won or placed in previous Black and White Print competitions.
10. All entries must have the following information attached to them on the back top right corner:

11. In order to allow the images to be viewed by the audience (and allow us to determine the order
of showing before the event) each club should submit six .jpg files of the print entries by Saturday,
April 18 2026 to: derek@derekhayes.ca
12. The file name must be exactly the same as the title of the print and be 1400 x 1050 or 1050 x 1400
pixels in size (same as for CAPA competitions).
13. Club Print Chairs should inspect their Members submissions to ensure that the prints
comply with the above Rules.
